Many people enjoy photography as a hobby and what better subject than orchids! With such an enormous variety of exotic flower shapes and colours you will never run out of subject material, and you can always find something new and interesting. Digital cameras have made everything so easy, all you need to do is point and shoot and the camera does the rest - and of course any problems can always be fixed at home by editing software, correct? While you can sometimes get reasonable orchid photos this way, it's much more satisfying to try to improve your skills and strive to achieve excellent results. There is a big difference between a quick snap and a well thought-out photograph - try to develop your critical senses and you will see where you could improve. But, with a bit of patience and perseverance you can achieve results that rival the professionals.

This part of our website will give you some hints and tips to improve your shots, and show examples of good and bad photos as well as before and after results of photo editing. We hope you find it interesting and useful and we encourage you to send your comments and suggestions to the webmaster. You don't need to spend a fortune on camera equipment but of course a better camera will give more scope for creativity and will allow you to reach your full potential. We will include some suggestions on buying equipment that can give you what you are looking for without breaking the bank. Again, if you can offer suggestions for equipment that you have found useful please feel free to contact us.
